6 Ideas for Your Wedding Stamp

A stamp with your own names and wedding date accompanies you through the whole of your planning – and saves a surprising amount of time and money along the way. Here are our favourite ways to use it, straight from real weddings.

1. Save-the-dates and invitations

Simple cards in kraft paper, plus your stamp in a matching colour – and you have an invitation that looks handmade rather than mass-produced. If you're inviting a lot of guests, you'll save noticeably compared with printed cards. Our Save-the-Date stamp is the perfect way to kick things off; for one consistent design running through your whole stationery, our personalised wedding stamp with 50 designs is ideal.

2. Envelopes and wedding post

A stamp on the back of the envelope turns every letter into a lovely little detail. It looks especially good with a monogram or your wedding date – or with our „Hochzeitspost“ (Wedding post) stamp, which marks every envelope out as yours at a glance.

3. Favours and seed packets

Lass Liebe wachsen“ (Let love grow) on a small seed packet – it's hard to imagine a cheaper or more personal favour. Jam jars, candles or soap bags can be styled just as consistently.

4. Tissues for happy tears

A classic that shouldn't be missing from any wedding ceremony: little packets of tissues printed with „Für die Freudentränen“ (For happy tears). If you'd like your names on the design too, you'll find the matching option in the personalisable version. Guests love them, and the photos of them are gorgeous.

5. Place cards and menu cards

With a stamp, every place card gets the same handwriting – even when several people help with the crafting. Ideal for anyone who needs a lot of cards in a short time. Lovely messages for this include „Schön, dass du da bist“ (So glad you're here) or „Schön, dich hier zu haben“ (Lovely to have you here).

6. Thank-you cards after the wedding

After the party comes the thank-you cards. Your stamp still fits perfectly and makes sure the invitation and the thank-you cards feel like one coherent set – rounded off, for example, with our „Wir sagen Danke“ (We say thank you) stamp.

Which colour suits you?

On kraft paper, white, gold and copper look especially elegant. On light paper, muted tones like sage green, dusky pink or ink blue are more attractive than plain black – our ink pads category has exactly these shades, as well as metallic colours for kraft paper. Our tip: do a few test impressions beforehand on the paper you'll actually be using – colours can look quite different depending on the surface.

When to order

It's best to plan your stamp early on, at the latest a few weeks before your save-the-date cards go out. That gives you enough time to test it and craft at a relaxed pace. You'll find all our designs in the wedding stamps category.
