Motivational stamps: a short response with a big impact
„Gut gemacht“ (Well done), „Weiter so“ (Keep it up) or „Das war spitze“ (That was brilliant) – classic praise stamps are quick to use and children clearly enjoy them. They work especially well in Years 1 and 2, where pictures and short phrases land better than long comments.
Growth mindset stamps: praising the effort, not just the result
Stamps like „Fehler sind Schritte nach vorn“ (Mistakes are steps forward) or „Du bist so gewachsen“ (You've grown so much) target exactly where children need support: the effort, not the result. They're especially valuable for children who give up quickly, and work well alongside a short, personal word.
Organisation stamps: the quiet helper in the homework diary
„Hausaufgabe fehlt“ (Homework missing), „Bitte unterschreiben“ (Please sign) or „Denk bitte an“ (Please remember) – these stamps save writing time every day and make sure parents are reliably kept in the loop. If you note a lot in the homework diary, a self-inking stamp works best: no ink pad needed, thousands of impressions without refilling.
Correction stamps: clear pointers without that red-pen feeling
„Denk an die Füllerregeln“ (Remember the fountain pen rules), „Schreibe lesbar“ (Write legibly) or „Streiche sauber durch“ (Cross out neatly) put criticism kindly and consistently. This takes the edge off feedback and makes it predictable for children.
Personalised stamps: your class mascot, your text
Many teachers work with a class mascot or a set motto. A personalised stamp with an animal design and your own wording combines both and quickly becomes the class's signature mark. As a rule of thumb: if you stamp only occasionally or want to use different colours, go for a wooden stamp with an ink pad. If you get through lots of exercise books every day, a self-inking stamp will save you noticeable time – press and go, no pad needed.
